Our Story

Anacko Cordage Company was founded in 1968 by Walter Anacko, a Navy engineer who, in need of rope for lobster pots, decided to make his own. What began as a small personal project quickly grew into a business as word spread about the high quality of his handmade rope. Joined by his son Mike, the family opened their first manufacturing facility in Jamestown, RI in 1973.

Over the decades, Anacko Cordage became known across the Northeast for producing durable clothesline and pot warp, serving both commercial and fishing industries. With over five decades of experience, we have expanded our reach to include a diverse range of clients, including marine, industrial, and commercial sectors. Our commitment to craftsmanship, quality, and innovation has solidified our reputation as a trusted name in the cordage industry.

The business has remained family-run through three generations, with Walter’s grandson Ryan now leading the company. Today, Anacko Cordage Company remains committed to American manufacturing and delivering high-quality cordage that is proudly built on tradition, hard work, and experience.
